Showing the product without showing a patient.

Clinicians and buyers need to see the real workflow, but every screen has names, dates and records on it. Shotbox lets you hide them at every stage, and keeps the footage on your Mac.

Screenshot guides with records hidden

Training guides need step-by-step screenshots. Blur or pixelate patient details, then add numbered steps, arrows and highlights. The blurred pixels are destroyed on export.

  • Step counter for numbered instructions
  • Ten text styles that read on light screens
  • Highlight the field to fill in

Blurs that follow the record

In the editor, a blur set to stick to screen content follows the record as the list scrolls, through zooms and layout changes. Export waits until the tracking is finished.

Training that staff can navigate

Long training sessions get captions and chapters, so staff can jump to the step they need. Chapter suggestions come from what you said, and are made on your Mac.

  • Captions on-device, never uploaded
  • Chapters copy straight into YouTube
  • Export .srt for your learning platform

Say it exactly as approved

Clinical wording matters. Read the approved script from a teleprompter that never appears in the recording, and keep pace with Follow my voice.

  • Import the script from a .txt or .md file
  • Pace in words per minute

Tips

Tips for better results.

  1. Use a test record

Record on a test or demo record wherever you can, and still blur it. Viewers can’t tell the difference, and you’re covered either way.

  2. Chapter by task

Name chapters after tasks staff search for, such as “Admitting a patient”, so they can jump straight there.

  3. Give the platform the .srt

Upload the .srt alongside the video so your learning platform can show captions in its own player.

  4. Read the transcript back

The transcript is the quickest way to check clinical wording before anyone else sees the video.

How it works

Three steps, one app.

Everything runs on your Mac, and nothing is uploaded on the way.

  1. 1

    Hide records in screenshots

Blur and pixelate are baked in on export, so the original pixels are destroyed.

    Annotate →
  2. 2

    Blur in the video too

Editor blurs follow what they cover as the page scrolls.

    Blur & redaction →
  3. 3

    Add chapters for long training

Suggest finds where the topic changes; nothing leaves the Mac.

An example

Making a ward-staff training module

  1. Script

Paste the approved script into the teleprompter.

  2. Record

Walk through the workflow on a test record, blurring names live with B.

  3. Edit

Add editor blurs that stick to the records, caption the session and let Suggest find the chapters.

  4. Deliver

Export the video and the .srt file for the learning platform, plus a screenshot guide for the ward.

Questions
Is Shotbox HIPAA or NHS certified?

No. Shotbox doesn’t hold certifications. It keeps everything on your Mac: no uploads, no cloud processing, no telemetry.

Can I make the blur permanent?

Yes. Blurs are baked into exported videos and screenshots, and screenshot blurs destroy the original pixels.

Does transcription send audio anywhere?

No. Speech recognition is pinned to on-device. If no offline model is installed, Shotbox tells you rather than using a server.
